The house is in the process of extensive internal updating, whilst retaining all the external character. The property has been dry-lined and re-plastered throughout, with insulation and damp-proof membrane used extensively. This is a very substantial property, the walls being around two feet thick!

The adjacent field that comes with the property is a fine productive field, an ideal site for self sufficiency or smallholding.

The house also benefits from it's own water supply adding to the potential for this property to be made completely Off-grid!

There are two stone sheds plus a large barn and a traditional stone cow-byre.

There is also a large garden with trees including a productive apple tree, presently laid to grass and a large area, formerly the farmyard.

The site is secluded being surrounded by farmland but is only two miles from Kells with it's sandy beach and Harbour plus it's a a short distance from The Kerry Way walking route.

The nearest town is Cahersiveen, about three miles away, with plenty of shops including Supermarkets, clothes and shoe shops and many cafes, plus a busy Marina.

Kells & Kells Bay

Kells is an old picturesque fishing village situated halfway between Glenbeigh and Cahersiveen. It is a quiet and peaceful place undisturbed by recent developments and is home to Kells Beach, one of Kerry's Blue Flag beaches (some refer to it as Kells Bay). There are beautiful views of Dingle bay and the Blasket Islands from this region. To get the best views you need to head to an area close by called "mountain stage". From here with the mountains as a backdrop (old railway tunnels run through the mountain from a bye gone era) you can get great views, weather permitting, of the coastline . The beautifully engineered "Gleesk Viaduct" (an old railway bridge) built in 1892 can also be seen from here.

If you are into hill walking then a stage of the "Kerry Way" passes here, an ideal days activity. Also in the area you will find Kells Bay Gardens. An old Victorian Garden containing one of the foremost collections of Southern Hemisphere sub-tropical plants in Europe, assembled from Australia originally but more recently from New Zealand and South America.
